Winter Policy

During the Colder months,(October-May)it is essential that the pool water temperature be maintained at a minimum of 84 degrees Fahrenheit. This policy is in place for several important reasons:

1. Comfort: Warmer water ensures that swimmers, especially young children, remain comfortable during their lessons. Cold water can be uncomfortable and may discourage participation.

2. Safety: Maintaining a warm water temperature helps prevent hypothermia, which can occur more quickly in colder water. This is particularly important for children, who are more susceptible to temperature changes.

3. Muscle Function: Warmer water helps keep muscles relaxed and flexible, reducing the risk of cramps and injuries. This is crucial for effective swimming instruction and performance.

4. Health: Warmer water can help in preventing respiratory issues that can be exacerbated by cold water. It also supports overall health and well-being during the colder winter months.

By adhering to this policy, we ensure a safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment for all our swim students.

Policy and Procedures

1. Safety First: All instructors must be certified in CPR and first aid. Safety protocols must be strictly followed, including constant supervision of students in the water.

2. Instructor Qualifications: All swim instructors must have a minimum certification from a recognized swim instruction organization, such as the American Red Cross or YMCA.

3. Travel and Scheduling: Instructors are responsible for their own travel arrangements and must arrive at the designated location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled lesson time. Any changes to the schedule must be communicated to clients at least 24 hours in advance.

4. Client Communication: Clear and prompt communication with clients is essential. Instructors should provide clients with a detailed lesson plan and progress reports after each session.

5. Equipment and Facilities: Instructors must ensure that the pool facilities meet safety standards and that all necessary equipment (kickboards, life vests, etc.) is available and in good condition.

6. Hygiene and Cleanliness: Instructors must maintain high standards of hygiene, including clean swimwear and equipment. Pools should be checked for cleanliness and proper chemical levels before each lesson.

7. Insurance and Liability: The company must carry comprehensive liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries that may occur during lessons. Instructors should be familiar with the terms of this insurance.

8. Lesson Cancellations: Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations to avoid being charged for the lesson. Instructors should also provide timely notice if they need to cancel.

9. Behavior and Conduct: Professional behavior is expected at all times. Instructors should be patient, encouraging, and respectful towards all clients and their families.
