During the Colder months,(October-May)it is essential that the pool water temperature be maintained at a minimum of 84 degrees Fahrenheit. This policy is in place for several important reasons:
Warmer water ensures that swimmers, especially young children, remain comfortable during their lessons. Cold water can be uncomfortable and may discourage participation.
Maintaining a warm water temperature helps prevent hypothermia, which can occur more quickly in colder water. This is particularly important for children, who are more susceptible to temperature changes.
Warmer water helps keep muscles relaxed and flexible, reducing the risk of cramps and injuries. This is crucial for effective swimming instruction and performance.
Warmer water can help in preventing respiratory issues that can be exacerbated by cold water. It also supports overall health and well-being during the colder winter months.
By adhering to this policy, we ensure a safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment for all our swim students.
